Book Review: The Art of Tommy Lee Edwards

The Art of Tommy Lee Edwards

Textured illustrations. Earthly tones. Technical prowess. These are the terms that come to my mind as I work my way slowly through the book.

Tommy Lee Edwards is an incredibly accomplished illustrator. His impressive client list includes Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Coca-Cola, Lucasfilm, Wizards of the Coast and many other major entertainment companies.

He has created movie posters for — another big breath in — Men in Black, Star Wars, X-Men, Harry Potter and many others. His illustrations for movies carry a very textured look, one that I can't tell if it is from the drawing board or from his brush.

In addition to the posters, there are also sketches and comic panels included.

This is a very simple art book with no captions. The quality of art speaks for itself. You can check out more of his art on his online portfolio.
