Here's volume three of Digital Art Masters, compiled by 3D Total. There are 60 artists included, each showing how their image was created. This is 10 additional artists more than Digital Art Masters volume 2.
The book doesn't focus on any specific software, but the frequently used software are 3D Max, Maya and Photoshop. The art techniques used by the artists can be easily achieved using similar software.
Each artist talks about his working process, on techniques, challenges and inspiration behind each piece. Topics range from mundane things like choosing canvas size to technical talk like setting up shaders and bump maps. This is a work flow process book. There are plenty of tips given the variety of 60 quality artists.
The illustrations are mainly on scenes, characters, fantasy, sci-fi and a little bit on cartoon style. This time round, more 2D work are featured, compared to volume 2 which focuses more on 3D work.
This book is highly recommended to 3D and digital painting artists.
