Review: Samsung Galaxy Tablet Arm Mount (X36) from Kuxiu

Kuxiu has added a new magnetic arm mount for Samsung Galaxy tablets to support the 12.4 and 14.6-inch Samsung Galaxy tablets, namely:

This company makes many stands for the iPads so it's great to see some stands for popular Samsung Galaxy tablets as well.

The price at the time of review is USD 89.

Bottom line

This is a beautiful stand that looks good and works well. The selling point here is the arm mount will free up space on your table.

By the way, I've reviewed many Kuxiu tablet stands in the past and this one is just as well made as the ones they have sold.

Design

This arm mount has solid build quality since it's mostly made with metal. The exterior is mostly matte textured.

Maximum gap for the clamp is 5cm, around 2 inches. There are silicone cushion for the clamp to prevent damage to your table surface.

Before you buy this, make sure you have a table where the clamp can go behind and under for the clamping.

The mounting plate has a matte texture coating to prevent scratching the tablet. I've seen such coating with my other tablet stands and the edges of the coating will eventually wear off with usage.

Corners for the mounting plate are rounded off and all the edges are beveled.

Oh, make sure to get the correct size for your tablet as the mounting plate sizes are not interchangeable.

Smart move for Kuxiu to have a huge cutout for the cameras and pen. This mounting plate has a good chance of supporting future tablet models thanks to that huge cutout.

First segment of the arm can only tilt 10-15 degrees from the vertical, while the other two arm segments have more movement.

The hinges are stiff and can hold the tablet without drooping down. And the mounting plate has strong magnets so there's no way the Samsung tablet can be knocked off accidentally.

The arm segments are hollow so you can run cables though them for cable management.

The two hinges and the rotating part behind the plate provides almost 360 degrees adjustment for the tablet. The easiest way to adjust the tablet is to have the tablet face up before you turn to other angles.

This is a straightforward product that works as advertised. I don't really see any downsides.

This may be a pricey arm mount, but it is a quality product.
