Book Review: The Art and Making of Aquaman
This oversized 178-page hardcover is n enjoyable movie companion to Aquaman.
There are two publishers for this title, namely Insight Editions and Titan Books. Depending on where you buy the book, and which publisher you buy from, the price of the book will vary. The content should be the same since the number of pages are the same.
Highlight of this book would be the text which talks in detail about the film production process, from casting, creating the sets and filming. I really enjoyed reading about how they adapted the comics for big screen, the changes they have to made, and the reasons for those changes. It's very interesting to read about how they actually film the actors "floating" in water, which is a combination of green screen and hanging on cables while being pushed by "invisible" workers.
This book is packed with more concept art than movie film stills. There are designs for the characters, environment and scenes. The artworks look very digital though, like they are composites of photos and digital art. Well, they serve the function as concept art but I've got to say that the art from included panels from the Aquaman comics looks better to me. But the style of concept art and comic art is very different so it's not really that fair to compare. Anyway, there are lots of visuals to check out. The ones I like most are the environment art of the various underwater kingdoms and locations, namely, Atlantis, Ancient Atlantis, Xebel Kingdom, Fishermen Kingdom, Brine Kingdom, Deserters Kingdom, The Trench and Dead King's Island.
Overall, this book's a worthy film companion. I can recommend this for those who want to learn more about the film and those interested in the artworks.

This portrayal of Aquaman
This portrayal of Aquaman movie is surely relatable to the comic character.I think DC is leveling up the game to give the audience a true comic experience.
