Book Review: Tim Bradstreet: The Sketchbook Series Volume 1
This volume one of the sketchbook series from publisher IDW featuring comic artist Tim Bradstreet.
It's a 48-page A4-sized paperback sketchbook. The retail price is pretty affordable.
This volume collects pencil line art exclusively with no inking yet. So you get to see how Tim Bradstreet designs the page and his characters, where he puts the details, and the areas where you leaves out for inking later on. On the scans, you can even see the pencil smudges.
The art is great and with the large format of the book allows intricate details to be seen clearly, such as crazy foliage, hair, etc. It's quite impressive to draw with negative space thinking to allow for inking.
Pretty cool book.
