Book Review: The Art of Death Stranding
The Art of Death Stranding is a huge 254-page hardcover video game art companion book that come with gold trimming on the edge of the pages.
The main designer and director is Hideo Kojima so it's probably not surprising to feel the similar Metal Gear Solid (MSG) vibe in the style of art you'll see in this book. Much of the concept art, especially for character designs, props and vehicles, are drawn in the familiar sketchy ink brush style. There's plenty to see and to satisfy fans of the game and Hideo Kojima.
The environment artworks are nice too. I like the industrial and derelict look and feel. They feel very grounded, very real. It's a beautiful, bleak, world.
The only downside is there are no text other than the short captions for the artworks.

No love for Yoji Shinkawa,
No love for Yoji Shinkawa, who is the one that draws in that brush style?
