Book Review: 速写时光 (Sketching Times sketchbook)

速写时光 (Sketching Times) is a great sketchbook to check out.

It's a publication by Creative Graphics World Magazine (aka cgworld) and cgchina.org. Be sure to check out their blog also for upcoming titles from them.

This is a paperback sketchbook. 304 pages. It's a good deal for the money. I bought it at SGD$29 which translates to around US$23.

It collects the sketches of 24 artists, mostly Asians. The sketches are really great looking. There's plenty of cool designs and variety to look at. It's mainly character art with the occasional mechas, vehicles and creatures.

The book is sold on the CGWMag Taobao site, specifically this page along with other books. It's all in Chinese though.

You can also get the book from Basheer Graphic Books. There's a volume two (featuring 30 artists) as well, so you'll want to ask them about that.

Highly recommended if you like artist sketchbooks.

It comes with a black sketchbook also. But the paper quality isn't too good.
