Book Review: Barcelona M'Inspira
Barcelona M'Inspira is a travelogue sketchbook from Lapin, a French illustrator living between Barcelona and Paris.
He likes to draw on old accounting books and is constantly looking for them. All the art featured here are drawn on those lined pages. He has a cartoony style, always closes his lines, perspective is sometimes warped and uses soft pastel-tone watercolours.
Collected within are the sketches of sights, scenes and people he met in Barcelona. Behind the cover there's a map of all the places he went, and numbered location markers that also appear on the sketches. There are notes and labels throughout but they aren't in English. The drawings are real fun to look at.
It's a beautiful sketchbook recommended to all sketchbook lovers. A nice book to get an idea of Barcelona, one of the popular cities in the world.
Barcelona m'inspira should be available soon at Amazon (US | UK | DE | FR | IT | ES | JP)
I bought mine at a bookstore in Barcelona, and had Lapin drew me on the page also.
